Chapter 9
Do and Don'ts
❌ It Is Not Your Monologue
You get asked "tell me about yourself" and suddenly you're on minute 8 of your life story since university. Stop. This isn't a monologue — it's a conversation. Recruiters need room to jump in, ask follow-ups, steer.
Answer in 1–2 minutes, then pause. If they want more, they'll ask. Trust the silence.
❌ Don't Machine-Gun Your Words
You're not chatting with a friend — someone on the other end is actively taking notes and judging in real time. Speaking fast doesn't make you sound smart, it makes you sound like a buffer overflow. Slow down. Enunciate. Let them process.
