Which Grades to Apply to

If you have never worked as a Software Engineer and you are looking for a Junior position — I have bad news. This is the level with the most competition. But you already knew that without me.

So, what to do? Don't apply for Junior. Apply for Mid. That simple.

And for my friends who are Mids — don't be afraid to apply for Senior and Staff roles.

The thing is that every company has its own perception of what "Senior" means. For example, if you are hired to work in a B2B company, they want everybody to be a Senior, because they can sell Seniors for a better price to another business.
