Chapter 55
Intro
Before entering every interview, answer one question: "What do they want to achieve by the end of this call?"
For example:
- Call with HR: the company just wants to see that you're in your right mind, that you can speak, and that you exist. This is the first real filter after CV screening.
- Technical Interview: they want to be sure your stack actually matches what you claim, so they spend less time (= money) educating you.
- Call with the team: they need to know you're the kinda guy they'd be comfortable working with.
So what is a Behavioral Interview, then?
It's not a fully technical interview, but it's already bigger than a chat with HR.
From my experience, a Behavioral Interview is where they check if what you wrote on your CV is actually true. Which means: go through your CV line by line before the call and think through every detail. If you can't back it up, don't put it there.
We'll go deeper into this in the current module.
