💡 Fun fact! Systems that do not meet ACID criteria are sometimes called BASE. It stands for Basically Available, Soft state, and Eventual consistency. Basically, the definition of BASE is NOT ACID.
Atomicity
In general, atomicity means that something cannot be broken into smaller parts.
