While I just told you to take tasks and responsibilities fearlessly, one thing is important to mention.
If you have too many tasks and none of them are moving, your manager might see you as somebody who's just swamped all the time.
Meanwhile, your colleague — who sells their work better — gets more visibility and a better shot at promotion.
So, sell your work. I know, it may sound cringy, but it's very important. Be vocal. Don't let others think you're doing something easy or unimportant.
